About

What this archive is, and how to read it.

This site is a cleaned-up archive of security research, reverse engineering notes, and practical systems work by BatteryShark. A lot of it came from an era where the work mattered more than the packaging, so the goal here is preservation with better signposts: keep the depth and the voice, but make the path through it less mysterious.

Some posts are historical. Tooling, links, operating systems, SDKs, and threat models may have changed since the original publication date. When that matters, the article carries an archival note instead of silently rewriting the past.

The best way to read the archive is to follow the method: how a target was reduced into smaller questions, which assumptions were tested, and where the investigation had to switch tools or mental models.
